Do you like writing about stuff? We like stuff!
TopicSprout is always looking for amazing writers to contribute content to the site. We’re a fairly small project, which unfortunately means that we cannot pay for articles. That will hopefully change as we grow. So if you feel like writing about crazy scientific theories or about whether the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would win in a fight (the Power Rangers would clearly win), then we want to hear from you.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for anything that our readers will find entertaining. It’s that simple. There are several types of submission that we are more likely to accept than others (interesting lists and fact-based articles are our bread and butter), but we will consider anything that our readers might enjoy. The only restrictions are that the content must be original (no copying or reposting) and it must be safe for work (no adult content or bad language).
A few pointers for first-timers
We’re very grateful for all content submitted. That being said, we may occasionally have to reject content. We’ll always try to be constructive and transparent in such situations. We’ll do our best to give you feedback that might help you in the future.
We are more likely to accept lists that have at least five items, with at least 150 words per item. That being said, if the list is engaging and well-written, we may accept it regardless of its length. For other fact-based articles, we usually aim to have them between 300-500 words so that they can be published as a ‘Quick Read’. However, longer articles will be considered!
All fact-based submissions must be properly sourced. Make sure to include source links where necessary when you make your submission. Just include the links in brackets next to the relevant sentences so that our editors can make sure everything checks out.
You might have noticed that our posts contain images and captions. Our editors will select the images that accompany your post and write any captions, but if you would like to suggest any images for them to consider, just link to them when you make your submission.
